The long-furred, tortoiseshell is Leafheart and she is the oldest cat in her clan. She is talking to Harepaw (her great-grandkit)- who has lost his tail, about one of the past leaders - Rosestar (who was also a tailless cat). Leafheart doesn't want Harepaw to feel useless in the clan just because now he can't hunt well. Rosestar's spirit is also listening to the story, really enjoying it.
