Fascinating creature and interesting background. May I ask why there are lines in the background?

The lines are supposed to be the edges of jungle leaves/foliage.

Ah I see. I have to admit they do look like random lines floating in the air. I think the fact that it's a night sky in the background kind of furthers that impression.

You know, I'm not that into felines and furry stuff in general. There's dragons and some monstrous creatures, but all the my little pony, warrior cats, whatever fandoms have burnt me out.. whenever I see canines, felines, horses or anything furry I usually make a run for it.
...but this creature, Quilldog, is amazing. It's unique and just lacks that stereotypical melodrama I'm used to from fandoms. It's mysterious and looks a tad royal, too. A being to take seriously. I love it. ^^

Thanks so much, Kat! <3 That was actually something I was trying to work on-- I always end up making a background that's close to the hue of the main character, and I wanted to see if I could do a totally different background and tie it all together. <3
