It is not always the need to learn from the best. Trust me I learned from my old art and mistakes. I take influences, sure. But the only thing here is to make up your own art style.
You have to learn from the basics, so that you can start off easy and you can easily head to the harder and complex stage.
You can't expect yourself to be good right from the absolute start, right?
So practice to draw, WITHOUT TRACING OR LOOKING AT ANOTHER ARTIST'S WORK, and from there, get used to your style of drawing.
