Thank you so much ;/////; I did a few customs in the past, but honestly got so stressed/worked out over them u_u Whenever I do commissions/customs, I'm compelled to try my best, spending too much time, doing a thousand details/tweaks, ending up feeling overwhelmed. Silly issue but that's why I don't do that often!

Ohhh intruiging. But customs are pretty stressful yeah. The best solution for this is asking the commissioner to search some proper references/ ideas for what they want. When doing customs you need a clear description, not something vague that requires a bunch of edits. As well, if people dont end up liking their custom, they can get their money back and you can sell it as adopt in the end, I suppose.

When I comm someone, I make a whole refsheet with different elements, describing the thing I had in mind, I usually ask for socials (for sketch updates or streams) which seems less stressful on their end. I've done the same a few times. Communication is useful!

So if u ever gonna do customs you might wanna make a basic rule line specific for them? And a price range depending on hours or amount of details the person wants. As well if you stream or have some direct social media (discord, twitter DMs) where the person can be updated.

As artist you are always free to say no. IF someone's request seems to hard, or too vague, you are not obligued to do it and face the stress.

Basic rules on what you need for customs are nice.

• Pallete (and description what color goes were)
• Gender, age
• References for things that can't be described properly (specific details like jewelry, horns, ears, etc)
  
• expression / emotion / personality
• any other notes about the reference materials and what to ignore or keep.

I did themed customs, with a lot of refs and stuff, I did semi-customs where I define what and how I draw, I get stressed over any commission/custom type thing so there's no help really. But thank you for advice.

Ahh,  I can completely understand that! I do freelance writing for companies and I feel that pressure a lot ;-; ;-; 
that's why whenever I commission artists I try to make sure that it's as stress free as possible for the artists that i'm working with :") <3

Either way, this design is super gorgeous :0 I love your scythe designs, and I loved those color designs you did before as well :0 you really make some great sets/themes!

Ahhh no worries!! I think almost all artists feel that one way at one point or another when it comes to commissions :'D They can really take a toll mentally!

And I can tell :0 I think themed sets tend to be really popular, and using hues/color as a theme allows you to get really versatile and fun with the designs and appeal to a variety of tastes :0 And scythes are just awesome weapons, so any design with them just looks that much cooler haha c:
