Captain Saturn and his Wandering Space Pirates.A group shot of a comic idea i have. still in the process of naming/building a history for each of them. i'm not entirely done the picture yet, because i still want to work on the background a bit, and there are small things here and there that need touching up. but it's probably as complete as i'll get it to post here. hope you like!

I really like the guy on the right, hunched over with spikes on his back wearing goggles and looks like he might be made of stone or scaly and he has a tail. He is awesome. Him and the woman with the bird helmet, and the guy with the robot jaw.
Its all cool.

holy shit!!! how did i miss this one before? i havent cruised your gallery in a while, and im glad i checked back man! this is killer. the details in each character, and their suits immediately gave me the impression that you had devised a complex story and background for each of them. i cant believe that you just drew these guys without any real deep explanation for their origins, THAT is impressive! great job with the whole design and layout, this shit is most definately a FAV+!!

I'm just a little confused by the image at first. Might be more defined if you just thickened the lines around the edges of each of the characters, just so your eyes can separate them a bit.
BUT IT'S SOO COOL. Must have taken forever to ink.... props unto you.

The quantity of differing looks in this image is great: from monsters to superheros to a regular guy with a gun. Great linework and shading!

Woo! This came out excellently, Joe. I am officially amazed. This may be the best thing I've seen from you.
It's also really cool to see a lot of influences from other things kind of poking out - But most of them are subtle and obscure enough that I'm not entirely sure even YOU realize they're there.
Man, this is really wicked stuff, Joe. My mind is blown. Consider yourself to have officially earned my fourth +fav spot.

Well, there's the little Sagat robot, obviously, which I pointed out when I commented on that image. That guy up front with the planet logo on his chest looks a lot like the Marvel vs. Capcom version of Captain Commando. The gal on the far left of the image looks like she's a cross between Gatchaman/G-Force/Battle of the Planet/Eagle Riders and Saint Seiya/Zodiac Knights. The dude with the big hair reminds me of Paul Phoenix from Tekken. Over on the right side, the guy with the slicked back hair reminds me of Gen 13's Burnout, and the gal with the scythe kind of reminds me of the Internet cult favortie/icon, Hyperjen.
There's some others in there that I recognize, but can't remember where from.
And I'm not trying to say that you're just ripping anyone off. Just, y'know, got some influence. And that's okay.

I dunno, I just thought it was interesting that the characters had some similarities to some other stuff. But, then, I find it just as interesting that you also don't know what the hell I'm talking about. XD
Regardless, at the end of it all, the piece is still amazing, and I applaud it and your talents. Way to go, man.
