Thank you! With lots of patience, but I actually like that it's an unpredictable medium.
Also, an actual bit of advice, if you ever consider watercolour, skip the cheap kiddie kits, they're basically a block of filler and very little pigment, buy at least art student quality paints, if you can't afford artist quality. Although, looking at American amazon (checked that you're Canadian), St. Petersburg watercolor is quite good and quite cheap for its quality (it's basically THE watercolour that you can most easily purchase where I live). Also, I've been meaning to look into Kuretake watercolour, which is also quite cheap, but from some artists on dA, seems very nice, bright and flowy.

Looked up, those brands are available in Canadian amazon, too. /TOTALLY not nudging you, what do you mean :'D
I totally understand. Art supplies are expensive. But! You can always try new ones - I usually start by getting a few colours of the medium I'm interested in at first and practicing with it to see if I like it enough to invest into more colours. Markers and oil pastels didn't really stick to me, watercolour and colour pencils were more friendly, but to each their own :'D.

You're welcome whenever you have time, it's understandable to be busy.
Your characters are cute, too.

So, what is her root animal? I just thought it was an angel.

She's part cockatiel. All the players characters in this RP are kids spliced with one or more animals and display some visible features of said animals. Like wings/feathered tails for bird characters, leather wings for bats, various furry ears and tails for mammal character, there's a snake character with green skin, and so on.
I guess these are kind-of the opposite to furries, as these kids are more human in appearance, with some animal traits, whereas furry characters are animals with human posture/wearing clothes etc.

I see. Are there any occasional side effects or does it work out perfectly - the splicing I mean.
