Yay new art with a clique title!Now that the holidays are over and I have no homework, I have time to draw! So I present to you purple David Bowie! Keep in mind that this was a very quick drawing (45 minutes-ish) so yeah...

Very nice traditional work, your texturing with the colored pencil is very clean and even. There's no jaggies or bothersome deepening of the purple in places that would create odd lines, which really helps with the form of the image. You've gone with a high-contrast interpretation of the Thin White Duke here, with a slick composition and great perspective on the facial forms. It's easy to see who's being depicted, even in thumbnails. I feel like the back of his head is somewhat lost in the negative space behind him, and there was a bit of a missed opportunity for play with light and smoke on the cigarette in his mouth. These minor nitpicks can easily be attributed to artistic choice, the negative space enveloping the form of the character is indicative of the overall darkness and high-contrast of the work. The negative space around him is in a hazy shape itself, which might iconic of the aforementioned smoke, a creative way to depict the noxious presence surrounding a dark and brooding character without getting overly wrapped up in the form or texture of smoke.Β
I think my only true complaint I may lodge-- reluctant to really complain on what is meant to be a constructive comment, but I gotta say, it would be with the DeviantArt watermark. That thing is an eyesore, and it's choking the silhouette you've created. It's unfortunate that such a thing would be necessary, art thieves and all that, but man I hate that thing. XD
Overall impression; very nice technical approach to a high contrast drawing, it really pops and the impression it leaves is immediate. Iconic and stark!
