Edit 5/31/19: Brightened image to remove harsh yellow tint.

This dress is the first in a long time from the three-inch patterns. I've been eying it since I received the pattern but I didn't have the necessary supplies, namely the crystals at the center of the bows. I had the opportunity to take apart an antique saloon chandelier and didn't skip out on it; it included ribbons upon ribbons of these small crystals seen on this dress along with the usual crystal shapes you see on chandeliers, mostly smaller-than-a-quarter sized octagon ones. My mom and I took time to clean these crystals thoroughly without damaging the cotton threads holding the ribbons together, or the jump rings (many of which had deteriorated over time). That being said, it took an average of 40 minutes to create each of the four bows which is normally too high in time-cost but with the antique crystal I think it justifies it. In the future, hopefully, these bows will take less time to make, as this is the prettiest pattern I've done for bows.

The entire progress of this dress can be followed / viewed through my facebook : www.facebook.com/MakeItPinkEts… This project was done between creating the pattern for the newest miniature shoes and my project for the stitchingpirates contest.

This is the first time I've used a three-inch mannequin! They're also called dress forms, for those who are picky. It's made of hard plastic and is white - very slightly cream. I can tell you that I am extremely unimpressed with it. I have black ones that are metal and are much more sturdy. These white ones are FRAGILE and do not meet what I consider to be high quality. As far as ordering a dress for yourself -- you absolutely can order a white mannequin if you desire it but I must insist you treat it with more care than average. I used white for this dress because I believe it blends better than the black mannequin would've under the pink. The next time I do this pattern, unless its a custom order or in dark colors, will be done in my previous stand configuration seen here pinkythepink.deviantart.com/ar… with a stand and hand-made wire hanger.

I know it looks kind of weird... why would I put those pink bows on top of that pink dress? There's no contrast! Believe it or not I did the best I could to capture it in the photos - the main dress is pink with a rainbow-y effect, the bows are pink with clear. In person the difference is obvious but my camera really had problems with it. The other part of taking photos of the dress is that the camera may actually have something against this shade of pink. The main photo here is taken outside in natural light, the two on the right are inside my lightbox with a lamp. There is heavy image editing on the two right photos - autocorrecting the images forced them to be green and yellow, so I had to manually adjust them. After the adjustments were made the white mannequin / dress form was completely yellow, even though the dress had the correct colors. Hnng.... hopefully you can see my efforts on this, I think the color is true to life now.

Size 11 glass seed beads in pink (rainbow and clear finish), 3mm plastic pearly beads between the ribbons (my 'faux pearls'), and 4 antique crystals from the chandelier. Woven together with the last bit of spool from my pink Japanese One G nylon. The spool lasted for three dresses, two large and this one. Could easily be ordered without bows so a photo is included. Future versions with bows can be done with regular beads instead of crystals as well. This dress cannot be removed from the mannequin without permanent damage.

I'm already planning on doing this pattern again, in different colors. I'm looking for color suggestions! The main dress is color one, the sleeves/hem/bows are color two, and the beads inbetween bows are color three.

Colors: 3
Bead Sizes: 2
Bonus: Antique crystals!
Size: 3 inches sleeve-hem (tall), 1/2 inch waist, 1/2 inch bust, 2 inches hem
Time: 12 hours without bows, 15 1/2 hours with

Pattern from the Japanese bead book "Miniature Beaded Dresses".

Wow, this is totally suitable for a princess! I'm not sure if it's right for me to say this, but I think if this was turned into a real dress, there might be some side boob action going on LOL. Β

Hahaha, yes, I believe there would be. The sleeves were a bit large on this pattern and I think even three beads less each would be a better fit! Thank you!

Thanks Mel! Yes they do, haha, I have to take breaks once in a while or it gets to be too much. Honestly my shoulders give out long before my eyes, I'm sure you must be familiar with that with your gorgeous miniatures as well. @_@ I find a magnifying glass lamp helps out a bunch though.

Thank you bunches! ^_^ I thought the same thing, it's right next to a Snow White -ish dress so it might've been on purpose... hard to tell since it's in Japanese.
