Duuuuuuuuude give into the impulses- it's a HUGE favorite of mine ;;w;;
I love how free reign it is with what you wanna do in the game, but you still have an awesome sense of progression finding all sorts of new items and bosses and locations anytime you start a game

Back when Minecraft first came out and I tried to get into it but couldn't- THIS was the game that won me over with the sandbox/crafty genre instead

It helped that it gave me actual goals/direction to go to instead of dropping me in to make my own whatever out of it
Having boss battles in it was also super cool to me- since it gave me something to keep testing my new weapons n' armor that I'd find on crazier and crazier stuff >:,D

Yea bc with MC its just youre plopped into a world and youre the only person
Theres really nothing to do or any objectives

That's the biggest thing that kept me from getting into it! :0 When I first tried it I did like it as an idea, but unless you're into mods and custom maps or creating those sorts of things- it was way too open ended for me x,,,D Stuff like Terraria or Starbound though give me something to aim at as an "end goal" while keeping the aspects I initially liked with the crafting or random world generation leaving a lot of replayability :>

Minecraft is like someone giving you a blank piece of paper and being like "play with it" but theres not really anything to do. Things with an end goal or objective keep the player going and even though story mode doesnt really do anything for the game, its sort of a better approach i guess. but with objectives, they would eventually end once you got them all. Minecraft has a bit more free reign which also doesnt limit the player.

That's a perfect way to describe it! xD In terraria the main "end game" objective is to get the best armor possible to attempt taking on the "final" boss- but I've sunk almost 200 hours into the game over time and still haven't managed to do that yet, either cause I've started new worlds everytime I pick it up or I'm busy digging around and collecting so many other things and going after other bosses x,D So it's like there's general objectives in the game you CAN go for but you can do so in whatever way you want.

I remember in earlier builds of the game when there wasn't as much late game content, the top times were anywhere from an hour to 20 minutes x,D But now the "end" end game at the fastest might take 8 ish hours only if the cards get played right
