I had this on my desktop many years ago. I recently found it on a backup drive of mine and now have it on my 17" Powerbook. Very sweet design. I liked it so much I had find your stuff again on DA.
Your style is incredible and your use of wireframes and 3d is perfect. I've seen many attempts at the effect, but this is best example.

cant point to any tutorials seeing how i was just messing around... here is a quick run down. gotta have 3dsmax.
took some block text, extruded it, applied a twist modifier. copied the object so i had 2.
1 of them gets a wireframe material applied to it.
other one gets a normal solid colored material applied to it with a really low opacity.
copy and paste that and reposition until they start looking good.
i think i had about 5 or 6 copies.
too bad i think i lost the 3dsmax file for this... =/ i tried to find it so i could re-render it larger for DAPrints but failed. i think i will have to recreate it someday...
