This is very lovely. It reminds me of Brian Froud's artwork. Such beautiful colours and a misty quality to it. Brava!

This picture is breathtaking....I just happened to be listening to 'Perfect Day' by Miriam Stockley. The song and the picture together - it's such a peaceful feeling : )

*gaaaaaaasp* I first heard that song during the opening for The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends.  It's such a magical song.

I love how this picec is in perfect alignment with the fairy fossil painting. Everything represented on the skeleton  is presented here in live form all the way down to the the shell line on her head! Beautiful Job!!!!

Thank you! It was tricky to get it accurate to the skeleton, and still satisfy all my aesthetic desires!

A fascinating companion to Fairy Fossil.  Looking at them side by side I can see the correspondence, but I certainly did not see it until I read it in the description.

VincaMinor In reply to windfalcon [2014-06-07 17:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh thank you, it has been bugging the crap out of me what sort of berries those were next to her, cause she's laying among what seems to be himalayan blackberry branches, but those aren't blackberries.  But I just looked up nightshade berries cause of your comment, and *that's* what those are.  So once again, thank you.  I feel enlightened, and suddenly the story in this piece is so much clearer (and sadder).

windfalcon In reply to VincaMinor [2014-06-15 19:45:49 +0000 UTC]

Happy to solve the mystery   I only recognized them because we had nightshade-family blooms in our yard when I was growing up, and my mother told me not to mess with the flowers or berries (I don't think it was actual *deadly* nightshade, but in the same family and would still make you sick).
