Hoo boy, I've been wanting to work with this idea for a while now. The whole thing started when I looked at the eponymous brony symbol and saw it as a weapon. Then I had the bright idea to throw in the Lunar Empire emblem. Then ARMOR! With GEMS! AND GOLD LINING! I got lost in the detail work

I had way too much fun with this one. If I had to pick out a favorite aspect, it would have to be the mane and tail rendering.

An ironic note is that when I was 80% done with the painting, I suddenly noticed I completely forgot the wings in the guide sketch. 5 minutes of brushwork got me the results you see; to put it simply, I "winged" it. HA. Don't kill me please

Time: 4.5 hours. That giant shield took up about a 1/4 of that time.

...I think scythes are my favorite weapon type.
