WHHHHEEEE!!!!!!Finally after almost two weeks of scale drawing and precision, It is complete!
Made from fountain Pens ONLY; Green and Blue. My green was beginning to run out while I was working on it @w@
lol anyways, don't ask how long this took..I honestly don't remember! lmfao

This has got to be one of the best scale coloring jobs I've ever seen in drawing. Yes, other artists might be "the master" of blending color, form and of perspective, but this has a unique charm of originality that I have not seen in ages.

Thank you very much! The funny thing is that I only used two pens for this. The green and the Blue! Any shading etc was just using different pressure on the pens(;

i hafta say, for something done completely in pen, this is absolutely epic. i kinda dont want to sound like a nazi by only pointing out the flaws, but i have noticed some. despite that tho, i still think this is amazing. the flaws i see are with the blue dragons right eye [our left], it looks a little deformed and flat. to make it better, i suggest making the contour around the eye wrap around it, like the cheek bone and the eye ridge. here ill get a ref to show you wat i mean. [link] this pic really exaggerates the eye, which is good for showing you. see how the top and bottom of her right [our left] eye kind of curve around the eyeball? thats kinda wat i mean. try that in the future ;3 also staying on the subject of the eye, the blue dragons other eye seems a little forward, like too close to the muzzle. maybe thats just the way im seeing it.
moving onto the green dragon; i really like his design. however, his neck seems a little fat at top and slightly gets skinnier? i understand this is in pen an thats hard to change xD also, his paws are like really small lol compared to his massive arms. id also like to point out the wing; he has two fingers and a digit coming from his elbow, but it originates in the middle of the 'forearm'? lol and the wing in the back doesnt have this extra digit.
the only other thing i can point out is the hip; its placed a little low XD and its placed a bit far back on the body. it mite just be how i draw dragons, it just looks a little odd. but i know that over time youll get better :3
and now for the good things. i absolutely love the diamond crests on these guys; the way you shaded them with the pen is just amazing. also the horns are unique and i love how theyre like opposites :3 im just absolutley astonished by how detailed something can look just by putting a bunch of curly Qs as the scales XD yeah i noticed taht but its still unique :3 i also love how this is the kind of picture that the more white there is the better the pic looks lol it brings out the color. lastly, the feeling this picture gives me. it makes me think these two are brothers, the blue one is protective over his smaller sibling and gets irritated that your just looking at them lol, and the green one is looking up to his brother, possibly just wanting attention. its a kind of like a guardian of innocence :3 the littler one doesnt even know hes being protected. hes just like HEY COOL HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR FACE LIKE THAT? lol. :3

This is the BEST critique I have ever gotten. I have to say, I don't think anyone else would put in as much effort and thought as you did, and I'm glad you did it. Only you would think you're sounding like a Nazi! I've been dying for a decent crit for a VERY long time! I LIKE it when people point out the flaws
Blue's left eye gave me some problems as you mentioned. I've never really had a good sense of prospective and drawing this in pen made it that much harder to figure out! I tried making a quick sketch of that half of the head on another piece of paper to work it out, but this was the best I got. For his right eye, I wanted to give it a furrowed, narrowed feeling. Guess I didn't really achieve that though!
Onto Greenie! I NEVER noticed the neck getting thinner until you mentioned it! Which is really weird but then again details such as this tend to...fly right over me. I'll try to fix that; it shouldn't prove to be too difficult ^^. His hand IS too small and there was nothing I could do once I had drawn his outline :/ I was upset because it stuck out sooo much >.< With his wings, I noticed that other dragon designs have that extra digit by the elbow, and so I thought I'd throw it in for a change. Drawings such as :[link] [link] [link] [link] etc.
Again, I don't really have a knack for detail and I carelessly forgot the digit on the other wing! But that too, can be easily added in ^^ It was supposed to be out of the elbow but I always seem to misjudge; my sense of prospective needs some fine tuning! As for his hip, I don't really know how to fix that...He is a little long though, if I might add.
lol The diamond crests originally weren't shaded until last night when I had a change of heart! i figured if I went all out with scales and such, I might as well add some sort of definition to their crests too! lol They're just squiggles really, but underneath that is a base of actual scales, but that just made the drawing look so flat and basic. The curly squiggles are what pulled it all together(;
The picture was actually supposed to be a mother and her son, but Blue looks more boyish then motherly x) Ahh well, whatever is seen, is seen! I actually like your concept better then mine! When I first started out, it was supposed to be two drags fighting, but I liked the mother idea better and so the feel sorta shifted ^^
Yet again, thanks so much for this long critique! I'll be sure to take it all into account on my next drawing!

Hello! I just thought I'd say that if you want to add an exta bit at the elbow of the wing, you could always make it a spike instead of a digit, that way it looks cool and isn't anatomicaly incorrect.

No, what I meant was, next time, if you draw a blade or a spike instead of a digit, the wing doesn't look as strange.

If you look at the elbow joint, the 'digit' is more like a protrusion of the elbow than a finger.
If it's still unclear, I'll draw something to show you what I mean.
