I ran into my own deviation. What a thing to do!

I ran down the boardwalk. In fact I did a forward roll, then a backwards roll, a cartwheel and even a 180 split leap.

Then I simply got tired. So tired of everything.

I decided to lay down and let the air roll over me instead. I thought how weird it was looking up at the light poles from this angle. I felt like an ant in the giants' world. I wondered what would the vines do if these poles weren't there. What would they wrap themselves around and climb up? Then I realized that trees were cut down to make this boardwalk and make it all lit up so I could be here and have this moment of deep thoughts. I watched the flies flying around the lights. I looked at the breeze carrying pollen, dust or whatever the shiny things it was carrying with itself. I thought of how this thin air was the only thing that kept us from getting sucked into space and of course I wondered why I couldn't see any stars. Damn lights...too bright..couldn't they have toned them down just a bit?

For a moment. it felt like I was laying on the deck of a ship and was moving forward with it but in fact it was the air, the time and the night itself that was passing me over while I laid down tired.

Days like this
I don't know what
To do with myself
All day and all night
I wander the halls
Along the walls and
Under my breath
I say to myself
I need fuel
To take flight
And there's too
Much going on
But it's calm under
The waves
