Description ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                            *YAY!*
                    I am able to draw again!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the past 2 months, I have been having pain in my
right hand that was so intense, I was unable to make a
fully closed fist some days. The doctor tested me for
arthritis and thank the stars I came out negative.
However, I still seem to have some rheumatism, but
I have been exercising it, and to my relief, the pain is
subsiding! I still have some pain and I am expecting a
follow-up visit, but I am just so happy that I am able to
do what I love again!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been a while since I have drawn Bebe and more so, Bebe with his hallucinations. The ghost boy is Dax, fashioned after my Dax, although, notice that Bebe's Dax has no mouth. That is where the difference lies! Pictured here, Dax is seemingly try to comfort Bebe about the "babaloon", since Bebe has a fear of balloons. But who's smile is that peering from the shadows???
I am quite pleased on the turn-out even though I was lazy on the hands and could have gone darker with the colours.
I must say, I rather enjoy looking at this piece. Of course, the symmetry is off in some places, but when is that not a problem with hand-drawn art? If there is supposed to be some sort of deeper meaning for this piece, I’m sorry for you but I don’t see it. I’m not the kind of person that can look at art for a few seconds and discover all of its secret meanings and messages, but I can still appreciate good art when I see it. Trust me, if I tried to draw this it would look like a five-year-old's finger painting compared to this.. I like the tone and the dark background, how it’s offset by the light colors of the people. The hands inside and around the balloon were a nice touch. I hope to see more of your art on ProjectComment’s More Exposure.
I am glad to read that you enjoy my art. I loved drawing this.
It is okay if you do not see a deeper meaning of it. The black-haired boy is schizophrenic and the other boy is his imaginary friend. There is no way you could have known that if you did not know my characters. But there is nothing wrong with enjoying the look of a drawing and getting your own meaning from it!
Thanks again for your feedback!
Thank you! I am glad that you enjoyed this piece so much!
Oh, it was not meant to be LGBTQ or anything, the boys are just friends    But I am glad you are connected to that community anyhow!
Thanks again for your comments, I do appreciate the feedback!
Hi! I'm from ProjectComment's "More Exposure" Journal series(I'm not staff, just came from there.) and saw your art. I really like what you did with the media that you had, it really shows that the background took an effort to make. The hair looks cool, and without looking at the description you can definitely tell that there are some strange happenings going on with the balloon.
Thank you!
Oh? That is interesting! Do you know why it triggered the response of fear? Like trauma?
TheCoconutStar In reply to RaspberryTickle [2016-10-06 04:52:43 +0000 UTC]
We'll yes, I do know why it triggers them. They're scared of it Becuase ya know that anxious feeling you get, when you don't want to pop the balloon Becuase it somehow feels like it's on a explods and kill ya. They're scared of that might happen or just the popping of the balloon. You have to keep all sharp objects away from the balloon if brought around them. Cuz it really does freak them out to the point of crying and hiding
RaspberryTickle In reply to TheCoconutStar [2016-10-06 04:57:26 +0000 UTC]
Hm, that is interesting that it would illicit fear that intense in them. I have never met anyone in real life with globophobia and Bebe has different reasons for fearing them but this was insightful. Thank you.
Hmm whats Bebe's reasons to having that fear? If you don't mind me asking~ X3
RaspberryTickle In reply to TheCoconutStar [2016-10-06 20:18:47 +0000 UTC]
The child is schizophrenic. He hallucinates all balloons to having the grotesque features as shown here. He believes that an evil entity is trapping souls of children inside of them and popping them destroys the souls or can corrupt your own.
Damn that's so intense and interesting, can you tell me more of your oc. Like the simple things so I can get I know him a lil better or is that all I can't ask?
RaspberryTickle In reply to TheCoconutStar [2016-10-10 22:43:38 +0000 UTC]
No, ask away! I don't mind at all!
A brief profile...
Full name: Jude "Bebe" Michael Patterns
Age: 11
Parents: Joan and Michael Patterns (father deceased)
Siblings: Misty Patterns (age 7-8)
He has several hallucinations, although Dax (the one in the red shirt), Pockets (a plushie dragon), Pencil (a 2-D mouse), and Bublee (a skeleton that can change size) are his main "friends".
The malicious ones are the 3'o Clock Man (who is presumably the smile in this picture), Shadow Hands, Matches (who is either a raccoon or a magpie), the Babaloons (balloons).
Ambiguous one are the Voice of God, T▲ngent (an angel) and C0sign (a voice under his bed).
But, yeah, if you want to know more about him, ask away!!!
TheCoconutStar In reply to RaspberryTickle [2016-10-11 01:51:51 +0000 UTC]
Hmm does he believe in ghosts?
What's his feelings to Dax like?
Had he ever had depression, if did when and why?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RaspberryTickle In reply to TheCoconutStar [2016-10-13 00:25:45 +0000 UTC]
Yes, he has trouble distinguishing reality. He thinks the souls of children are trapped in the balloons and the mist inside of them are toxic.
He likes Dax. He does not realise that Dax is a hallucination. He believes that Dax may be dead or that Dax does not realise that he is dead. He wants to protect Dax from the 3'o Clock Man.
He underwent depression upon the death of this father, but it is not a clinical depression. Psychotic disorders are hard to diagnose in children, so over his childhood, he has been diagnosed with several disorders before being finally diagnosed with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia only affects 1.1% of the population, and I am not sure that this percentage includes children. It is extremely rare in children. Bebe's story is actually based on two real cases. One is Jani Scholfield, the youngest person to ever be diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 6. The other case was of a 17 year old named Michael Beeby. I read about him during a research paper in high school.
Ja, no problem! I love talking about my OCs more than myself! XDXD
Have you any OCs?
RaspberryTickle In reply to TheCoconutStar [2016-10-19 04:00:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh ja, I get that. I used to have that problem. I still have a lot of OCs but a lot of them I do not show either. I have to let them sit for a while, and if I do not have any more attachment to them I delete them.
TheCoconutStar In reply to RaspberryTickle [2016-10-19 06:06:09 +0000 UTC]
I don't delete my Ocs per say, I just dunno if I should show them or not. On DA. I don't want my ideas and Ocs get stole and stuff.
Cuz if that happens I dunno what I would do
I still work on them but I don't show anybody unless it's my close friends irl.
I like this. I've actually never heard of a fear of balloons (though I did once hear of a balloon fetish o.O). Anyway, pretty cool!
The fear of balloons is known as globophobia. It is a rather funny-sound word isn't it??? XD
Well, I guess they are round and condom-like so....but still gross o.o
