It’s not hard to miss this tall gloomy hooded fish. While he doesn’t talk much, he does stare quite often and it’s been noted his slightly large eyes can be quite unsettling at times.

Because he keeps to himself for the most part, he’s rather awkward in conversation. He tries his best but he’s very shy.

STRENGTHS & SKILLS:
- Good Memory: once he’s fully acquired new information, he’ll almost always remember it.
- Sense of Direction: He can find his way around rather well after treading through it once.
- All eyes and ears: Very perceptive of his surroundings. He’s quite an analyzer.
- Excellent Swimmer: Duh.
WEAKNESSES:
- Dehydration: Being in human form doesn’t cause much damage but he does feel weakened if he doesn’t go into normal form every once in a while. Usually to deter this he just consumes a lot of water daily.
- Easily Manipulated: While not entirely trusting at first, once you have gained his trust with the right words, he’ll not question it. He’s never been much of a leader…
- Magic: While he deals with magic himself, he’s still highly susceptible to spells and charms.
POWERS/WEAPONS:
- Hydrokinesis, specifically Hydrokinetic Constructs: The elemental ability to create objects out of water. He can create simple objects that are not complicated in form (Such as a sort of "water whip" for offense--with limited range--and a small barrier for defense. Both are only as strong as his concentration, and even then the time length is limited to only a few minutes at a time.)

Having lived a third of his life restricted and sheltered, Murchadh has grown more open to social interactions and living amongst humans. He remains cautious at all times and though he comes off as distant this is not entirely the case.
He is rather quiet and perceptive, taking in his surroundings as well as other’s mannerism, which usually leads to him making some strong judgements towards others, though he would never openly say them. If anything he appears to just stare, which sometimes appears rude though he doesn’t realize this. But through patience and observation he is able to analyze others better. And whether or not approaching would be a good idea, although he is a very considerate individual and diligent in his actions.
Despite his growth, Murchadh still remains impressionable to many things. Having never been a leader, with the words he follows, finding mild comfort in a path of some sort. While he doesn’t see himself being used at times, it’s very much the case. He can also be rather moody at times, usually due to a stressor that is persistent. While he can keep his temper in check, it does not mean he will refrain from vocally speaking his frustrations if pushed further.
HISTORY:
tl;dr:
Sheltered merman finds himself out on his own due to his own dumb mistakes and sulks for like a year. Come 1920s, Befriends a fae who deals with his moodiness and paranoia and the two adventure together through the decades and discover portals. Carelessly uses portals. Finds the supernatural world and thinks wow what a swell place so they stay awhile. Murphy feels he has enough guts to go back to the human world on his own and goes through the portal. Finds Transyre. Nice place. Scary forest. Regrets his decision and wants to go back but nope he’s stuck. This was such a terrible idea….

- If his skin were to get wet, his scales and webbing (on feet and hands) will show through, usually going away once he’s dry again. ( this doesn’t affect him having legs as that’s connected to his talisman--also his gills are always present, even in human form)
- He has both gills and lungs that function much like the human esophagus, where one is in use or the other. (ex: leaving the water he would expel whatever water he still has so that his lungs can breathe and vice versa)
- He has sharp teeth and retractable claws, though are used mostly for intimidation.
- His father was human though he knows little to nothing about him.
- In his actual form, he is around 7 feet in length and slightly larger than his human appearance.
- He usually has his talisman wrapped around his left wrist or, if busy, will wear it around his neck. This is usually under his clothes and never revealed in public.
- He has an affinity for Bobby Darin’s “Beyond the Sea” and likes to sing this the most.
- Clothes are as weird as legs but worse. How do bipedals deal????

Stuck.
He was absolutely stuck here. Oh this was bad, very bad. He didn’t know where he was and that was a rather terrifying realization. While the town didn’t look so bad there didn’t seem to be anything else for miles except for those trees. And that had a bad vibe all over it. Murchadh took a slow breath as he reevaluated his surroundings.
Transyre.
He had heard talk of a place with a similar name but it was probably a different town. The town seemed homely enough and nice to look at. Okay, he can do this, right? It shouldn’t be too bad. He can be patient. For whatever reason the portal doesn’t work it can be fixed right? Maybe from the other side? He can’t be the only supernatural who got stuck with a faulty portal. And in the meantime he’ll give this place a chance. Shifting the cloth wrapped around his neck he proceeded to the nearest clothing store to go look for a change of clothes. At least this place isn’t a desert, which would have been awful.
