Description Western Black Widow spider (posterior view) ... most likely a female because of her distended abdomen and probably filled with eggs and ready to be laid.

Note the orange-red hourglass marking along the underside of her abdomen, which is characteristic of the species and a clear warning for anything to stay out of reach.

This little bitey is no longer free to cause injury or death and is being preserved in isopropanol.
