Lovely and gorgeous,...the way you use watercolors amazes me. Do you use a combination of watercolor pencils and watersoluable crayons as well as watercolor paints? The technique is breathtaking.

Thank you!!!! I actually only use pure watercolours, I've never mastered pencils or crayons!

Love it, and not just cos I love iris's. I think they are bloody difficult to paint but I can't stop trying!!

*bowing I'm not worthy of such eye candy. How long does it usually take you to finish something like this? Do you do the background first? I'm just starting out doing watercolors and could you use some pointers if you have 'em. Please look at my newer gallery submissions if you have time. I think that I will try my hand at a flower as well.

Ruth - this is stunning! The vibrant colors, the luscious deep green background fading into the iris' colors, the depiction of the flower and buds themselves - I would call this a masterpiece of its genre, you should definately put this into a show! Barrie
