GAU! GAU! GAU! GAU!

Okay, so there are no monster hides in this picture. I was never quite understood how a kid thrown out of the house as an infant/toddler found or fashioned pants to begin with...

I also didn't like the little flowery patches on the pants, and always felt it really didn't make sense for him to have that sort of thing. Unless his dad threw him out of the house with a substantial wardrobe, so he always had pants while running around on the Veldt. His shawl is also removed. (all of these items are from the Amano pics)

I'll admit, I liked drawing Gau because he can be put in virtually any pose and people will say "oh....that's just Gau...." and it totally justifies it. I made it a bit more subdued, showing him crouching at twilight on the Veldt. The little rock he is leaning on was drawn as a skull, but I cropped out the bottom of the picture because I didn't really like the idea of him looking like he just killed someone.

I'm not much of a Gau fan, and really don't use him any more than I have to in the game, because he is unpredictable with his Rages. From all reports, it seems he is actually one of the most powerful characters in the entire game, I just haven't done much with him in the party.

***Edited: His right arm got messed up in the coloring, accidentally becoming part of his hair. This will likely be corrected at a later date.***
