oh I see. I dont know why I never thought to vary hue due to genetic varience, water run off, ground height varience, growth varience or soil color varience effecting the grass color. this really makes me think of grass more realistically. cheers.

Amazing. Altogether, the image would look hard to produce and overwhelming, however, step by step, it is actually quite easy of a task!

Wht brush did you use to draw grass?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Sketch06 [2016-01-22 15:14:34 +0000 UTC]

What layer blending and color did you use to get the orange/ yellow?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saberbun In reply to Sketch06 [2016-02-26 05:49:07 +0000 UTC]

You could most likely add a layer above the grass layer(s) and:

1. Use an airbrush tool at a medium/low opacity, play around with it, and put it on over the grass. You could also play around with the layer setting like luminosity, ect. And the opacity of the layer until you reached your liking.

2. Use a regular brush and blotch the color over the grass layer(s) and then use a large blur tool to blur the color out around the grass, play with opacity levels a bit. And also again play with the opacity level/setting of the layer.

I think 1 is more effective for this but either could work

Your drawing style looks really fast yet effective -- and it always turns out so awesome! I can't get over how good you are with digital painting. All I have is Gimp cuz it's free, and I'm not sure how to use it yet. :/ I'll practice over winter break after exams ^^

Raccoonzzz In reply to DwimmerCrafter [2016-01-17 15:42:08 +0000 UTC]

I think GIMP is pretty good, I have GIMP and Medibang paint pro, which is also free and works well.

i recommend Paint tool SAI and Photoshop, those are very helpful programs and also what Ryky uses to do his work

DwimmerCrafter In reply to BlehForest [2015-12-05 06:41:00 +0000 UTC]

I know, I would love to have them, but they're so expensive!! Art is just a hobby of mine so I can't justify purchasing those programs. Maybe for Christmas... Β
