Ellie's training takes on various forms, she would never be happy mastering just one thing, as soon as she grows used to one routine or style of training it's on to the next, constantly keeping her own body guessing and forcing it to adapt to the latest ridiculous challenge she imposes on it. Today, she tests her endurance. As she often likes to, she keeps it simple, straight forward and excruciating. Ellie loves the burn. Her eyes shut tight, leaving her in a self imposed purgatory. There is nothing to focus on or distract herself from the growing tension along her shoulders, back and chest as she feels her body wrench itself apart simply holding her unending static pose.

There's no goal to shoot for, no end in sight, nothing that she can measure her progress along and reassure herself that she is coming close. She will hold, and she will suffer until her body literally breaks down and cannot not endure any longer. Few static holds could give her this satisfaction without weight, but the iron cross is famously one of the most difficult in the world. Naturally, near every girl in the Academy can pull it off, but nobody for as long as Ellie.

The only respite from the mounting pain and exhaustion is the image she holds in her mind. An image of her better self, leagues ahead of the girl who is already the top athlete of the prestigious Academy. Already a living legend among her peers and redefining what a girl should be capable of she longs for more. Not for the recognition and admiration of her teachers and peers, but for her own obsession with taking her strength, skills and limits to new heights. No matter how hard or how long she has to work, she lives to find these knew ways to improve. As the minutes tick by and she starts to drown in the strain and exhaustion, her prideful smile remains as she burns.
