Description This is a concept for Future air Racing, using Plasma engines and the Earths magnetic field for levitation, these are the cream of racing in the future, flown only by the top pilots
of this era, Mostly Military pilots are found in this genre of racing.

They are mainly constructed from Novel Polymeric Alloy, which has a high tensile strength and can handle the extreme forces created from these flying craft, also the cockpit is
a survival shell and can survive the most severe impacts, incorporating a parachute system and foam impact system to protect the pilot.

I have designed, drawn and rendered the ship.

All the logos were designed by myself, a couple of the names were thought up by my friends, Rez-Q escape capsules and Pulse medical services.

I really liked the image of these racers in the garage/paddock/whatever you call it, but in this one they don't seem as "real" as they do in that image.  I'm commenting on this one rather than that one because I believe I might have some useful criticism here where I don't on the other (which is already good enough that I struggle to find a useful point to make).

I think the reason that this one seems to fall a little flat for me is that the shading on the ships is too flat and the cockpit tint too opaque.  Without the ability to see through the glass at all the cockpit just looks like a black patch on the craft's surface, which robs it of that kind of direct, humanising reference for scale.  And the highlights in the garage scene are much sharper, giving a clear impression of the rounded fuselages and high-gloss paint finish of a thoroughbred racing machine.  Here the shading is much more sort of pastel, much flatter, and the unfortunate consequence is to make the craft seem less "real."  There's a hint of the gloss finish on the shading of the background craft here, but the foreground craft looks like it's painted in a matt, pastel sort of shade and the edges of the panels have shadows that don't really seem dark or sharp enough.

Don't get me wrong here, it's still a good image and I really like the design of the craft, but for me the garage scene worked so much better (seriously, it's pretty awesome) and I thought you might be interested in the reason why I favourited that one and not this one.

Well first of all thank you very much for writing a truthful comment and believe you me it is welcome,
always better to get the truth and see where perhaps I can go wrong. I think when using the HDRI
image for the background I added a bit to much light emission to it, kind of flares it out a bit, to
be honest I did this quick to see what they would look like in an environment, hence the fact it took
me so little time to do. Where as the Hanger version took a lot of time, from pencil concepts to
drawing it all out in 3D.

In a nutshell I agree with all you have said, also Thank you for Faving the Hanger version and
saying it is awesome, means a lot for someone like yourself to take the time to say so. I have another
coming soon based on my Star wars style transport ship, but that will be a little time what with my
3D printing work.

All the best
Sargy
