I read the original Sindbad stories (translated in Italian), they are very beautiful and interesting, but no movie about him made in western countries was close to the true Sindbad. I loved (and still love) the Ray Harryhausen movis, but they too are western-oriented. There are some episodes and situations, in the original stores, that are too far from the western idea of epic or of an "hero", or in the general "modern" idea of hero, so I think that we'll never see the true Sindbad in a movie.

Nice work. So I prefer too the original arabic idea. Americans are experts on transform all foreign influences for their consume. I have any problem with it. The real problem is that then they sell this american version to all civilizied world. Here in Spain we know the united states culture much better than they the ours. English is almost an universal language and I find it very useful, but that´s all.

My sister is friends with one of the artists (Wade Huntsman) who worked on Dreamwork's Sinbad. He said originally it was based more on the traditional tales both in story and artistic style, and they were so excited and proud of it until one day Steven Speilberg said they had to change everything because somehow some of their concepts had slipped out and the style was taken by another movie maker (I don't remember who). So Dreamworks had to slop together a different kind of Sinbad to meet the original deadline, so they made the movie very mediterranean. Wade was so disappointed, and of course, the movie wasn't very successful because of the changes. I would have loved to have seen how they originally planned it. I love Sinbad's adventures.

Yeah, they never were good at following story lines, no matter how famous the story.

THIS is what Sinbad should have been for the DreamWorks film. Keep up the work, man. Any animation studios' gonna discover you someday.
