Thank you! I certainly have every intention of finishing the whole thing . (That said, I'm having great trouble laying out page 14 at the moment :/...)

Fabulous inkwork. I really want to know how to format comics and all that. It just amazes me. Do you just use plain ink, or do you do it on the computer. How do you get the frames so neat?

Thank you!!

I do everything by hand. I design the pages with pencil, a bit like laying a puzzle; then I make neat pencils, using a ruler fro the frames, and I ink over those with Staedtler felt tip pens in different sizes. (I really can't work with pen and ink, for some reason.) The only thing I do with the computer is to enhance the contrasts and make the black surfaces look more solid - the plain scans of the felt-tipped ink work tend to look a bit poor.

If you want more information about the way I work, you can take a look here: [link] - but be warned: I'm not a professional, so I wouldn't put my technique up as an example!

There's lots of complicated stuff going on here, but it's all very clear what's happening, which must have taken some planning. I love the 'heart's aflame' joke when it's only his arse. Hee hee.

Did I ever tell you that your Lily Evans reminds me of the way that Jean Giraud (Moebius) draws? I love his stuff - I've got several of his albums including from his Garage Hermetique series. Do you know his work?

The bottom left panel, where Snape takes out his ink stained homework is beautiful. You've managed to make it cramped yet sinuous, and totally Sigune. Is his head a bit big there, though?

Oh, this page was just terrible to do - lots and lots of things had to happen in such a small space, I had to do a lot of condensing... I'm not sure how happy I am with the result; it's a relief to hear that it's all clear though.

Hmm... It's possible that Snape's head is too large... I do have a tendency to draw large heads. The impression is probably also augmented by the fact that his shoulders are pulled up and cramped; I don't know. I'm sometimes a bit hazy on proportion, though I do my best.

I'm not really familiar with Moebius's work, but I've heard enough about him to know that I'm being complimented . Thanks!

*laughs* Poor Snape - but his revenge is great ... I feel like he would have some 'fun' with McGonagall later on ...

Oh, he will... The next page features 'my' McGonagall a bit more prominently.

(I haven't forgotten about our McG deal, btw, but I'm very busy at the moment so it will take some time...)

No stress ... art needs time and space to be good I have time. And I'm really looking forward to the next page
