The Periton is a winged deer. In some myths, it can also spit flames!

Thanks for the compliment! If nothing else, I tried to create interesting, active poses for my gryphons; and expressions. That never was easy. Also, those poses tended to suggest battle themes to me, which some people did not appreciate.
Hey, to me, a gryphon would be as active as a bird of prey, and as agile as a cat. That would make them powerfull hunters/fighters.
Fortunately, Hope is hard to kill. That's why it is still around! So now, I sometimes try commissioning something, to keep the feel of working art.

To me it sounds very sensed to imagine a gryphon like a combination of bird of prey and big cat, even in its movements or positions. It is very fascinating to think about how fantastic creatures would live and move and act, and to represent them like that! It makes them like more real and near, I guess, and it is of course a very good drawing-exercise!

Hope you will! Just go over to Elfwood, and search for: gryphon peryton. You will know mine--I like battle scenes! Sadly, I'm short on time now, and my hands aren't as good for fine detail work as back then. Too much rough ranch work (and age). If you like them, please leave a comment.

I was on Elfwood, and I have to say that your works are really interesting; it is a pity you canΒ΄t produce a lot of new stuff right now, but you know, hope never dies!

Thank you, I try. It is getting harder and harder to find decent gryphon (or, much other mythical creature) art in any sort of respectable action scene. I used to do a bit of that myself. Some are still up over at Elfwood. That's were I put a peryton or two! With gryphons, of course.
