Here's The True Avatar, the real protagonist of the legendary Ultima Saga, looking sooo virtuous. With the Avatar, her girly companions: Raven, Shamino, Desbet and Mariah. (100 percent girly indeed: Shamino the Ranger likes crossdressing so he's automatically girly, and Desbet the Gargoyle is a genderless creature and thus 50-50.)The Lady Avatar knows what "a paladin" is. Everyone does except the canonical Avatar, the retarded one we saw in Ultima IX: Ascension. This picture is based on "the original plot" that was scrapped and replaced with... a piece of scrap.

Is it possible that "The Avatar" from Ultima IX was actually some normal dude from earth that the portal accidentally picked up instead of the actual Avatar.
Essentially that guy got the Avatar's invite by accident and that's why he has no clue about anything about Britannia?

Yea, Ultima 9 was... disappointing. I, like many, naively expected something like Ultima VII, except better.
Call me a sad nerd if you want, but I still occasionally see this nice, bubbly dream where I'm playing Ultima IX: Ascension and realize that it's good after all!

Looks perfect in accuracy to the first 6 game's lore, I love it. I only wish somebody could remake the last 3 so that they made more sense..
One thing I'm wondering is why you chose to make the Avatar a girl, though. Just a remake of your own character?

Nice, nice. Very nice. My personal canon is that Ultima IX is actually a nonsensical dreamlike fugue state created by the Guardian as a last-ditch effort to stop the Avatar as he/she crosses the dimensional divide on his/her way back from Pagan with all those godlike powers gained from slaying the Titans.

I rescued Sherry the mouse from the doomed Britannia right before U9 started. That's why she wasn't there.
