This has really taken me aback! Splendid piece of artwork!
Perhaps you should have used a finer brush on Link to really define his facial features, other than that, excellent

Which is more dangerous? The road to the mountain or the mountain itself?

I would say the mountain! Though the road at night can be scary!

Beautiful! This is the painting you were talking about, as it would appear. This is by far and away one of my favorite paintings you've ever done, especially due to the sharp standout texture work you've applied to all these different areas like the mountains and the greenery right down to the happy little clouds floating overhead. Can't argue that the sense of distance lends itself well to the depth factor, creating a rather adventurous feel to the whole composition. It's done so well I can practically hear the iconic Hyrule Field theme in all its grandeur, encompassing all of the splendor that is before my very eyes. Link and Epona are surely going to have quite a 'field' day on their upcoming endeavors!

Brilliant work, as usual! All your practice as most definitely paid off, and this is one of your best yet. Thanks for the epic smile-inducing nostalgia trip!

One of your favorites?? Nice!! I'm glad you think that. How long has it been since I've done something fan art? It feels like since Nsider (2007 RIP) lol. While this still is scenery, I put that Zelda spin on it and I think it came out just how I wanted! I'm happy you noticed depth, because I really tried to make the close up parts detailed and the further away parts more faded (except the mountains).

You're better at reviewing art than anyone I know lol. Thank you for watching my page! The piece sold in less that 24hrs on Etsy... so expect more nostalgia trips on behalf of me!!

Hey, nothing better than mixing two of your greatest strengths together! Your early days and your current focus go quite well hand in hand with one another and this piece makes it feel like it's truly come full circle. The improvement is tremendous, let me tell you...and it honestly fills me with a great sense of pride and privilege having been able to watch your progress reach the heights that it has.

Heh, you're too kind dude; just calling it as I see it is all. I'm really happy for you and wish you nothing but the continued best of success!

I'm glad someone has been around long enough to see the difference in my fan art progress! Back then I didn't have the opportunity to show many people the art I did besides Nsider. You've seen pretty much any fan art I've done since what, 2005? That's a long time! Thanks for sticking around

Well, just about. I don't think I started posting until late 2005 or early 2006 (can't remember which) but it was at least nearly two years or so as far as my posting tenure on NSider goes.Β  I actually signed up in 2004: So yeah, it took me awhile to get around to actually being a participating member of the forums. xDΒ  Enough of my rambling though; it's certainly been a pleasure since day 1 of meeting you and seeing your amazing art progress!

How did you get that picture?? I need to look up my old page! I remember how immature I was posting on Power On just to get enough posts for a signature lol ... I'd say things like "cool", "I agree" and "lol"

Well, look no further: Best's Photo Album Β  Found it while scrolling this particular archived page. Β  I mean, sadly it would seem your profile wasn't archived, and only that first page of your art gallery was archived from that specific date.Β  Some of the first few pages of my own gallery were saved, but that's about it on my end, haha.Β  Man, let me just say it took a lot of digging to find you. xDΒ  And look, I even found some of your old posts!

Why Mario? POTW!
How Will Kirby Look!? *Tom Nook =[* Β

I actually kept a screenshot of my first post and my last post ever , that I took not too long after NSider had just closed and was temporarily in read-only mode for a week.Β  You can see the difference in how I sounded from going from a complete newbie to being slightly more mature but still pretty silly-sounding, haha. Β  Also managed to find this snippet of my own old NSider Profile too, hah.

Β And I got access to these posts by using the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

We were all so young and innocent and free back then, weren't we? xD

I was really sad these links said they didn't work when I tried them last night on my phone. But today on the computer they worked!!! Woh blast from the past lol. I remember all of those things you linked me, its crazy now it seemed like I had forgotten. Some of the imageshack links even still work from my "Bests Album" which I was surprised and happy to see! I remember the Why Mario post.... I did that because I wanted a Post of the Week add-on to add to my signature lol. That was my only motivation... but I got it!! All with the help of terrible research on Wikipedia as my only source xD .... Thanks for finding these that was awesome of you to do. I tried before and didn't get nearly this much!

I should of saved some things like you, but I kind of just migrated over to Nsider2 for a while lol (where I finally won the first art contest they had... but it wasn't the same!!)

Heh, yeah, with computers it's probably easier for the old links to load rather than on a phone although they do surprisingly work on my 3DS XL browser like where I'm typing this from right now. All my Imageshack links sadly broke a long time ago, haha...and I don't think my account exists anymore for whatever reason. Still, it certainly was a blast from the past as you mentioned exploring all these old memories that are frozen in time within the depths of the internet archives...not too much unlike Hyrule Castle underwater in TLoZ: The Wind Waker, wouldn't you say? And yeah I remember my own happy day when I wrote a post on the Wii Board editorializing the Wii's name change one year later, and it won PoTW giving me my own sig add-on. The link in my old signature actually still works and it can be found here: From Revolution to Wii: The Name Evolution One Year Later [Editorial] - PoTW Winner . I think I was a little too dramatic when writing it though to be honest. xD

Always happy to help! Glad I was able to find some old memories of yours to share with you, and some of my own as well. And true, Hen and GoddessZelda will always be the true NSider FA contest officiators in my eyes.

Your POTW was really well thought out and well received!! 9 pages of comments! That's something to be proud of ... That was so long ago. Can't believe it's pretty much been a decade. We were just kids. I cringe reading too much of my stuff from back then so I avoid it mostly lol xD

Very true, that official contest was something I always looked forward to. A couple honorable mentions... but I never got that price! Oh well, we we're up against some very talented people!

Heh, in a way I suppose you're right. I do thank people who enjoy my writing ability for what it is, such as it is. I'm glad it gets people inspired from time to time, haha. I used to think high school was so adult-like but man looking back it sure does feel like those years were a lot more like just kids doing their thing. Makes me yearn to be that age again, minus the school part of it! And I guess everyone has their own thoughts and feelings on what they enjoyed or would rather forget about their younger years.

I always wanted to see my art in the magazine, but the best I was ever able to do was a letter printed in the Player's Pulse section way before my NSider days with a short response from the editor, haha. I was way too overconfident in my PokΓ©mon Mystery Dungeon entry, which was my first foray into the contests. Can't deny that the competition sure was fierce! Oh well, it was honestly nice to see some winning friends get their time in the spotlight and seeing their pieces printed in the magazine. I always thought that to some readers out there who weren't NSiders, that those winners would just be a quick admiration of their work to them, but to me, I honestly have had (and still do with some of them) the honor and pleasure of knowing them on a deeper more friendship-like level.
