Description HAPPY YEAR OF THE TIGER EVERYONE~!

The year of the tiger is my year. Ack, that means I'm turning TWENTY FOUR this year! Can you believe that?! I'm so old! My brother is turning 12 too!

Not my best piece of work ever, the paper was very textured and it made getting the final look kind of difficult. But its tiger, and its been prettymuch forever since I drew her. Colored pencil and marker. Don't worry, its a fabric tiger kite she's got, not a real tiger. Though she can turn into a real tiger.

Happy 2010 everyone! And remember to check out the WWF's "year of the tiger," [link]

Haha. Great I see how she'd be a tiger with the hair.

The colours really look great in this picture. And her calm expression amidst all of this makes it interesting.

I used to hate textured paper, but now it's one of my favourite surfaces. But it was a huge pain when I was going through my clean line-art phase.

I love ultra-smooth bristol and watercolor . . but I think I kill things with textured paper.

Actually, I think I kill things pretty often anyway.

Do you ever start out completely abstract? It's really therapeutic, and caters well to the texturier textured papers out there. And it makes your images stronger, usually.

I probably ought to do that more often. I really ought to actually paint more often too, but I suck at it so I shy away from it. Consequently, I continue to suck at it.

Likewise. At least for oils.

let us challenge ourselves to try new things! Or at least, I will when I can finally open my windows and vent smell outside. Curse you, nine months of Toledo winter.

I tried to make them feel kind of traditional chinese, but it can be hard to find good references sometimes.
