I used to hate textured paper, but now it's one of my favourite surfaces. But it was a huge pain when I was going through my clean line-art phase.

I love ultra-smooth bristol and watercolor . . but I think I kill things with textured paper.
Actually, I think I kill things pretty often anyway.

Do you ever start out completely abstract? It's really therapeutic, and caters well to the texturier textured papers out there. And it makes your images stronger, usually.

I probably ought to do that more often. I really ought to actually paint more often too, but I suck at it so I shy away from it. Consequently, I continue to suck at it.

I tried to make them feel kind of traditional chinese, but it can be hard to find good references sometimes.
