This was a commission I made for ~Beudma at the beginning of the year. She wanted a pendant of her beloved Sam in my Mondkatze style. Sadly Sam passed not long ago, and she wanted something to honor him... from what she told me, Sam was a very loving cat and her life-long companion, her story made me a little bit emotional so I worked extra hard for both of them. As a cat lover, I empathize with her feelings and wanted to reproduce him exactly, so that she could always see Sam in this. Please kiss your furbabies for me.

Sam had a very particular shade of yellow, a subtle tabby pattern and a slighter color on the mouth, the tip of the tail and the fingers. I did a lot of brush work to reproduce the fur pattern as close as I could, which gets tricky if you notice how small this actually is! But I love this scale, they end up being really adorable. She requested the moon with an abstract pattern, in sparkly dark blue color and with a light blue mica. I really loved the color combination of the moon and it ended up being so sparkly and fabulous! I love her color choices.

I haven't received a Mondkatze commission in a while, I miss working on these. I feel so close to my costumers when we talk about their pets, I love to know their stories, personality, traits, etc. Also, the money goes to a good cause

Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay by me, completely by hand without the use of molds. The cat was carefully modeled by me in a very small scale and painted with acrylic paints and a tiny brush to reproduce Sam's likeness. Mica was used on the raised parts of the moon.

Would you like to commission a Mondkatze or a Mondhund?
I'm accepting commissions for this, I can customize the moon with any combination of colors you want, or make it flat instead of textured, round, shiny, anything! If you send me reference photos I will also make an exact miniature copy of your own cat, dog or any cat/dog you want. You can read my commission info here and my pricelist here. 100% of the profits (minus shipping and materials) will be donated to a local non-kill and non-profit shelter.

I've been hanging out with them and helping them whenever I can do find out if they're really doing this for the animals, and not cheating anyone or keeping the money. I was actually amazed by how selfless and generous they are, they really care about the animals and put their lives at risk for them, they've kidnapped dogs from bad owners and endured being bitten by the same animals they're trying to rescue. A lot of times they don't receive enough donations and end up paying themselves. I'm happy to keep raising money for them and I trust them to keep doing their great work.

My boyfriend and I have made up tons of cute stories about us living in the Moon and creating our ideal world. Since we both love cats and identify a lot with them, eventually the term "Mondkatze" (Mooncat) surged - it's in German because we both study German and we like to speak in German between us to practice. I eventually started making dogs, and so now I also offer "Mondhunden" (Moondogs).

So cute *A*

Oh and there is a German grammatical error :3 It is called "Mondhunde", not "Mondhunden" ;3 the plural of Hund is Hunde, so yea
But I find it really interesting that you and your boyfriend (now husband, if I recall correctly?) are studying it *A*
