That is so beautiful, she is just like the heroine in a silent film, in the days when women were truely glamorous, lovely image.

Thanks.
The original was a DD and stock. I just saw it as a BW image so I worked a little on it. That era has never been matched for glamour.
I like your tagline. Here's a quote from a gal from that era you might like. "It's the good girls who keep diaries; the bad girls never have the time." Tallulah Bankhead

This seems somewhat sorrowful, an emotion which you have built on with the lovely black and white.
Awesome work my good old chap!

Thanks much.
I really thought this image was awesome when I saw it, and it won a DD, the original. But I felt it needed BW and the older look to it.

Thanks much.
Sometimes I look at something and just see it a certain way. This time it was a stock image and I could actually change it the way I saw it.

Thanks, but I cannot take credit for the whole idea or model or the main lighting.
PLEASE read above about the original. This is a photomanipulation of this incredible image [link] from this incredible artist
She created the image. I just turned it to BW and aged it with PS and a little cropping.

Definitely wanted that era to show. I was also thinking of Lillian Gish when doing it.

I Do agree that this looks so much better in black and white. There's alot of colour used in todays and sometimes you miss how much more perfect things look in black and white.

Thanks for the comment.
I am so glad you liked the manipulation. I was worried that you wouldn't. The original is so perfect that I almost did not want to touch it, but I love it in BW.
Thank you for such great art and allowing others to use it.

To me the art of today is taking a picture and turn it into an "ART" image. That requires insight into what the models emotion is and add emotion from the photographer. In the darkroom. (Computer). Then and only then does the image become greater then the model or the photographer. I see the two of you in this image.

Thanks for a great comment.
I am kinda torn with that though. I have been in photography for over 20 years and just this year started to shoot digital. I always shot BW film and I always shot the image I wanted when the photo was taken. But now I am seeing the possibilities of the digital world.
I agree that you can take an image and then create the feel or emotion you wanted with PS but was unable to get it when the exposure was made, and as you said, it then becomes greater than it's parts. I'm just not completely sure of this, being an old film photographer. I am slowly manipulating images beyond what it was that I shot, but I really want to remain true to the moment of the the exposure or creation. However, the digital possibilites are so vast that one can take an exposure and create a true work of art now, beyond just a photograph, as you stated, and this opens up an entirely new world of art, especially for photogs like me who can't draw a stick man well.
But I feel that photomanipulation with PS is so awesome and limitless that it can't be completely ignored anymore.
I really loved the original of this image, but I really wanted to see it in BW so I was glad that the artist made it stock.
