So here's what's going on here:

War has been brought to Subsector Aquellis of Segmentum Obscurus. On the far side of the Subsector, the valiant Space Marines of the Imperial Fists Chapter fight a pitched battle against the unholy minions of a Word Bearer Lord who has come to pillage these eight worlds held by the Imperium.

Convinced that the Space Marines would not conquer this foe alone, the Inquisition has stepped in with the authority to send every combat trained man and woman of the Subsector into combat against the invasion. A single Hive World's supply of conscripts combined with an Imperial Guard Bastion World have been sent to the front lines with the Emperor's blessing.

On the other side of the Subsector, a recent development has caused alarm.

The newly established Colony World of Novinus has just reached it's first year of Colonization. Covered in dense Old-Terra forests with non-hostile wildlife and gray mountains with white snow capped peaks, and a vast blue-green ocean, the colonists see it as a paradise granted to them by the Emperor himself.

Governor-Lord Servasos however, has discovered evidence of chaos worship during a recent theft of supplies from the planet's only space docking platform. Though the colony has a rather large standing defensive army, the Governor quickly alerted the local High Inquisitor of the Subsector, sending him his evidence.

High Inquisitor Malduke, Captain of the 'Talon of Retribution' has tasked his two secondary inquisitors with the elimination of the heresy growing on Novinus.

This task now falls to only one, as a last minute error on the part of his staff has sent the other straight towards the battlefields on the far side of the sector with a single companion. The other, by the same error, has been granted the protection of two Temple Assassins and a platoon of the Ship's finest stormtroopers.

Ten thousand souls reside on Novinus, and if the cult is not found in time, the Word Bearers would assuredly gain the upper hand and overtake the Subsector.
