Poor Cheerilee.
she definitely needs some character development so we can sympathise with her plight. Losing her students. Maybe being blamed in some way for not protecting them. And now taking drugs. She is on a downwards spiral and while the plot is amusing I canβt help but feel uncomfortable with an educator drowning her worries about her students via artificial means. Please consider showing her getting the psychological help she needs in a snippet or two.

Is she being held ransom or does she know what it is and is covering it up as she approves or is too scared for her students (and the public) being hurt by whatever is behind the kidnappings.

Twilight is not allowed by princess Celestia to investigate the foalnappings??? This is unusual. Hm...
"Princess Luna can eat whatever she wants and never puts on any weight..."
Why would she randomly mention that in there? Unless... Β
----
"There. I've sent the letter. Hopefully she'll not investigate this any further and discover your... gobbling habits."
"Good. She must NEVER know that the Nightmare Night stories are true. THEY must NEVER know!"
----
Nah! That's silly!

Ok, Now there's something really strange!
I'm getting a slight allusion to 'Winter Soldier' here. Twilight wants to solve this; but is advised/told not to by her mentor. Twilight (Cap.t Amer.) wants to fight for the sake of good; yet now she has to ask herself "Well, what is good?"
Also, Twilight's cliffhanger more than outweighs the shenanigans that Sea 3 DT and Silv.Sp. are getting up to.

The censorship boxes area satirical comment.
Putting in boxes where they are not required highlights those areas rather tan conceals them.
Take a look at Pinkie on this page and tell me that you're mind does not go straight to the gutter, when it wouldn't have done so without the box

Wait, how does a face-palm relate to foreign cultures? It's a universal thing.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheBadFaerie In reply to crazyseandx [2018-05-26 20:14:50 +0000 UTC]
That's the joke.
There is no cultural appropriation, it's satire on.
People in the real world get accused of cultural appropriation for things that transcend multiple cultures. Or even things that are from their own culture.
My school was accused of cultural appropriation by townies for celebrating several traditional French holidays. The irony is that a lot of us are descended from the original settlers. Who were ... well ... French. Including my own family. So you had people being accused of cultural appropriation for celebrating their own history.

I've heard white people wearing blue jeans called cultural appropriation before. The Thumbs Up gesture, using a hair brush as a microphone when you sing in your bedroom, side ponytails, different colored bands on railroad braces, wearing sandles with long socks that aren't pulled all the way up, wearing a black bra under a white blouse, and most forms of spicey food from Texas.

Maybe Twilight could go round investigating something else and just βhappenβ to come across evidence about the kidnappings. After all if she finds something out it not that she specifically when looking for clue she just found them while investigating something completely related. *wink, wink. Nudge, nudge*
