St Benedicts, Lincoln...Much of Lincoln High Street is now traffic free, the war memorial stands on the edge of St.Benedictβs Square. There has been a church here since before 1107, much of this church dates from the 13th and 14th centuries and was severely damaged during the English Civil War. St.Benedictβs no longer has a congregation.

Wonderful architecture which lends itself to any manner of light and shadow,no matter the time of day. They don't make buildings like this anymore it seems. Just utilitarian,dull,lifeless block boxes.

Very lovely. Though upon first glance I saw the top of the monument and thought it was a bird house. Well, it should be one, maybe for doves (peace not war)?
