Description   66 mya in a location now known as the Hell Creek Formation, a small herd consisting of three Edmontosaurus annectens are grazing on the ferns on the floodplains floor.  Meanwhile in the area, a lone middle aged Tyrannosaurus rex is stalking on the herd. The tyrant hasn't had a meal in a couple of weeks. The herd doesn't know of the unseen danger of a stalking tyrant that is waiting for a moment to ambush.

This deviation is part of a two part series that was made to celebrate and honor the 148th birthday of Barnum Brown or the person who discovered and named Tyrannosaurus rex(besides Henry Fairfield Osborn and Edward Drinker Cope). The second deviation in the series will be posted on his birthday, February 12th.
There is also a sketch version which can be seen here .

I would recommend fixing the midline feature scales on the Edmontosaurus.
The Mistaken Skin Frill of EdmontosaurusIt's paleoart meme time again!
The hadrosaurid Edmontosaurus annectens is one of the most well-known dinosaurs in terms of integument. This is due to a number of exceptionally preserved specimens with extensive skin impressions. The integument running along the midline of the back in particular is the focus of this post. Dorsal scales in E. annectens were first reported by Osborn (1912) in his description of the famous "Trachodon mummy" AMNH 5060.

Photograph and line drawing of the neck of AMNH 5060, modified from Osborn (1912).
Osborn described skin impressions covering the neural spines of the cervical vertebrae. From these he concluded that E. annectens had a frill of scaly skin that extended along the dorsal midline. This frill was featured in artwork of "Trachodon" by Charles R. Knight, especially in his mural at the Field Museum. However
