I love painting owls. This is done with the same three-color palette as my last owl - burnt sienna, yellow, and cobalt blue. I love the color harmony that it gives the picture, and it still prevents it from going 'flat' or muddy and low-contrast. I've noticed that my owls look quite a bit more dimensional in acrylic, though I'm not going all-out with shading. Interesting...
