yeeeee so this is my part of the artrade that I and DJxICExCREEP did. jeez, check out her part or I'll kill you.
holy fish. this is my first time to draw caves like that, and also a detailed background is a rare thing in my drawings cozIhatetodrawthem. but I really wanted to make it special coz DJxICExCREEP is a special friend of mine, plus her RPs are really fun and I used the description in that RP of Zaphix's cave for this drawing. I know I had to put a little Alex somewhere in this cave but I went lazy, please forgive me my dear mango lord.
so yeah, that background was such a big project that I had to use both PS and SAI to done it yes, both of 'em.
and the crystals' color was random too. idk, I always imagined pink.
and the rainbow glowing balls? they're the fireflies. kinda.
sooooooooooo I hope you like it! c: AND DON'T EVEN THINK OF SAYING BAD THINGS ON YOUR PART. IT'S MY FAULT I WENT TOO FAR WITH THE BG AND STUFF.

Such beauty in this drawing! This artwork is gorgeous!! It's incredible how much you've improved. I love the drawing with caves full of cristals and dragons inside, they really mix very well, and specialy in this drawing keeping in mind the colors of the dragoness and the cristals. The different light effects and the background make this drawing a beautiful artwork, and very worked as I can see. I love all the shimer in it and the detail with the background.

Anywho, whatever you did for the gradients, lighting, and shading looks really really nice.
If I may ask, how did you do that thing with the tail in the water? That actually looks really cool and I want to figure it out.

oh... how I like this type of comments 
"screen gradient" is a low-opacity layer (around 20%) with a gradientthat I put on the top of all the layers and its layer filter is on "screen". I have an example for the screen gradient in this drawing, if you what to see on what I'm talking about. I know it can also work in SAI but not sure about other programs if they have the layer filter.
aaaand the tail in the water is pretty easy too. I put the layer of the water above the layer of the dragon and low the water's opacity to 85% ^^

and shade and light were the most fun part somehow, usually I hate to shade but I guess that after the crystals' pain even shading and highlighting were fun.
