oh, that's a very good job. In this image represent the movement of the body you have succeeded very well indeed. And the play of colors is a blast.

I'm learning how to make my texturing more subtle. I'm in a place of constant experimentation and growth and sometimes things work and sometimes they don't. I'm so far behind in editing right now that I'm going to have to invest less time in experimentation and more time in just getting caught up. I have publishing deadlines and I'm behind. eeeeeeks

gorgeous, vibrant colors; is this HDR? beautiful elements; lovely tribute to the Vitruvian Man --- you only shoot at the last 2-3 hrs of light? What about sunrise?

Sunrise? Moi? Awake at sunrise? Oh my, like that's ever going to happen. I have only ever photographed *myself* at sunrise - I do on occasion go out into the wilds or the mountains and spend time alone naked and getting back into my body and in touch with the earth. In those cases I wake with the first glow of morning and will often turn my camera on myself and my morning wood. But back in the city I'm sound asleep at sunrise and wouldn't likely even entertain the possibility of shooting then. I love the light at the end of the day. Everyone knows of my fetish for it and they indulge me gracefully and unhesitatingly.

Thank you. I love hearing the word gorgeous. No, this is not HDR. I just started with a very strong image shot with a Nikkor 105 VR lens and built upon that strong beginning using several layers of texture. Each additional layer of texture deepens some colors while diminishing others. It's not an exact science and sometimes I get carried away. In this case I stopped when my gut said stop and am happy with the results. Glad you like it!

So many good aspects with the color, texture and the motion.

Thanks Adrian. I have sat on this image for awhile not sure if I wanted to mess with it or not. Last night it happened and it came to me quickly and I'm happy with the results. It's not a given that all of my work will undergo a transformation in post. Sometimes images are fine the way they are. This one would have been fine either way. But I'm liking these colors!!!

Very lovely colors in this, so vibrant. And a gorgeous model. I like what you have done with the circle, reminds me a little of DaVinci`s drawing.

I'm sooooo glad you saw that Nathie. I was concerned that I'd made it too subtle. And yes, at some level I will always be affected by daVinci's Vitruvian man, perhaps one of the most widely recognized images of all times. It would be a cliche` were it not so perfectly crafted. Andrejs' body has formed what appears to be an almost perfect circle. He has a preternatural understanding of what his body is doing in any given moment. A true yogi and a most beautiful and mystical guy. Remind me to tell you about him sometime.

Wow. I'm speechless. THAT is blue.

TomasClark In reply to redwolf518stock [2010-10-13 06:17:30 +0000 UTC]

It kind of is, isn't it! I was really not trying to create more blue because the sky was already blue enough, but once you start layering the colors build up and wow, the blue really picked up some steam here.

Your texture Jackson that I used here makes an appearance three times!!! And still the blue gets deeper. Isn't that crazy?

That is one of things I love about textures, you just never know what you are going to get! I'm guessing the gold tones really set off the blue. Either way, it is really striking. Of course, the photo is great, too. It's a great pose on a really cool setting. Is that "magic hour" light?

It is magic hour light Chris. I only shoot the last two or three hours of daylight. It's not so much a rule as it is what simply works for me. I have to plan carefully and I always have to be very aware of what the sun is doing from month to month. It's not a burden, it's a joy to be aware of the movement of the sun and to align my life and artistry with the circadian rhythms of the earth.

And speaking of earth, your textures appeal precisely because of their earthy qualities. Just realized that right now!

I love the light at the extremes of the day. You have a great relationship with that light!

Oh, and thank you!
