Actually it was the PH levels. And Ammonia was a bit high. Now I test the water once a week however.Β

ah I see. yeah once you have the tank cycled it will be easier. I used to test ammonia levels every day and do a water change every other day in my 5 gallon until the ammonia was gone.Β

I now test the water levels once a week and I use this cool insta-water conditioner. So far so good.Β

It is a pretty combination.^^ I don't think I've ever seen one personally though. In dragon scales, I usually only find ones with red/white colors.
If you don't mind me asking, where do you buy your bettas? Their colors are really amazing.

I have a Percocet that gets beautiful Bettas. All of my boys are from there but the girl is from the betta shop in mn.

SORRY! auto correct was being stupid on my Ipod. lol I mean to type Petco. and yeah a lot of petsmart and petco's don't have very pretty bettas and never healthy ones. the Petco I have close to me gets amazing looking bettas.

That's pretty awesome they have such awesome bettas at the store near you. I don't often hear that many great things about Petco either. I just hate when stores let bettas float on their sides or let them get finrot and other things like that.Β

awww, have you ever heard of Aquabid? they have amazing bettas! but they ship them overseas. but they take great care of them when they are shipped.

yeah too pricey for my taste.
Gah same here with the curled fins. I heard that is due to hard water and the PH levels. but I tried to fix that but it did no good.

I heard about the hard water too, but same here with not being able to find a way to fix it. I tried a couple different things with no luck. My crowntails seemed to have the worst fin curling, but oddly enough all my female bettas' fins look perfectly fine.

yeah I have a CT that has HORRIBLE curled fins! D= but all of my Plakats of course do not.Β

It kind of seems like the shorter finned types seem to have less problems with fin curling then. It's a shame because I really like the way Crowntails look.Β
I have a Veiltail right now that having some problems with his fins seeming to stick together. I have no idea what's causing it.

I probably will too, haha. Fin curling doesn't seem to hurt them, so why not?
Aw, poor guy. I'm not sure what to suggest. I tried different medications, but mine's fins are still sticking together. Really is a mystery. Maybe we'll find a cure for it one day.
