Description [ID: A digitally enhanced traditional pencil and paper drawing of Gus’s mom, who has a dress with a ribbon belt and white and black hair in a ponytail, holding young Gus’s hand. She looks at him tenderly and he looks excitedly back at her. Behind them are Perry and Skara. Above the picture the title “Day 12: Gus*s Mom“ is written. End ID]

Ok so I’m not happy with this one, even though I was looking forward to this prompt. I just cobbled this together instead of properly planning it out. I did that for most prompts, but this doesn’t give of the vibe I wanted. The thing about “Gus’s Mom” in my head canon is that she is more so Skara’s mom than anything.
This is one of the rare moments where Gus got to spend any time with her as a kid, a rare moment of the family being happy. Her name is something out of the Odyssey, Scylla Rhymester. When she went to Hexside, she was in the bard track. While Scylla was hanging mostly with her friends Odalia and Gwen(Boscha’s mom), she and Perry were sweethearts.

They were so lovely dovey despite their friends disapproval and projections that they would not last very long as a couple. They stuck together despite being of different covens, got married, and had kids, first Skara, then Gus. They stuck together for at least 25 years, though only five were after they got married. It really seemed like they were going to prove them wrong. But then they couldn’t stop arguing. Their tempers were getting shorter and they were avoiding each other despite living together. No matter how much or how long they loved each other before, they knew it wasn’t working out now and that thick air of resentment was no place to raise children. So they split up. Scylla took Skara to raise her as a socialite and Perry was left with Gus. Because the two live apart now, they can stand each other again and the family isn’t as broken as had been during the divorce.

Um I’m running out of time. That’s all for this time folks. Hope you enjoyed!
