Aesthia: Andrej woke up in an unfamiliar land with only the barest of memories to ground him. He knew that he came from somewhere else, a different world, but the details of his old life are scattered and difficult to articulate. With no choice but to explore his surroundings, Andrej wandered through a dense forest only to come across a quaint cabin, nestled among a clearing in the trees. The cabin was cute enough sure, but the girl who lived there? Now that was a sight for sore eyes. This girl (who introduced herself as “Fred”) saw his complete lack of direction and decided to take him under her wing, to show him the ropes of this strange new world. But hidden in her kind eyes was a sort of unspoken sadness when she looked at him. He, too, felt like that somehow this girl, a stranger he met in a little cabin in the woods, was not a stranger after all.

Intent to get to know her better, Andrej decides to join the Protectors—a noble gesture sure to impress Fred. And maybe, somewhere deep down, he believes in their cause.
