I wanted to draw all day yesterday, but unfortunately I came down with a really nasty bug, so barring sneezing on a nice sketch that I would've worked a while on, but between fatigue and aches and pains I wasn't gonna bother. Then I watched the new Dragon Ball Super special last night and oh boy, did I want to draw today no matter what condition I was in. This is the first actual Dragon Ball sketch I've done in a really long time now, I was just so impressed with how they animated Goku in the special(and I'm usually really quick to criticize super for such things, so it was a really nice turnaround on their part), so I wanted to give a crack at his new form in my own rendition(tbh tho I definitely should've used a reference tho lmao). Kinda phoned it in towards the end, still sick and got impatient lol, but it was fun to do a some dragon ball content again, I think I'm gonna start doing DB sketches more again cuz damn I miss it now lol.Related content

Nahh it's totally fine I get it. And yeah same I judge super a bit too. I just love the originals and the way those were animated. I look back at the new episodes for comparison and some episodes just look lazy. Like the animation had some "shortcuts" to make the scene easier to produce. And I get that but still. Dragon ball is a legendary sort of anime you don't just take "shortcuts" in animating the series lol

i agree with ya completely. really gotta take your time with a series like this. even when ball and z had to take cuts and whatnot they would try to do it in a stylish and creative ways much of the time. but i'd say super may start to be on the up and up hopefully, so i'm definitely waiting to see if they can back it up

Yeah I agree. I mean so far I like the the plot and series itβs sooooooo much better than GT. It makes sense too. Lord I have no clue how I forced myself to watch 30 episodes into GT it was horrible
