Hi Victor,
I'm a Pakeha (European) in New Zealand and found your artpiece above whilst looking for Maori designs. I'm a wildlife photographer and wanted to try putting a Maori artpiece behind one of my photographs and so I tried your picture, which looks pretty good. 

I sell my artwork for a living and wondered if I may use your design?

So sorry, meant to get back to you ages ago. I didn't end up using your image because I hadn't heard back before needing to use it so my wife created a similar artistic piece that I could use... Here's the two work pieces , the first one's with your image the second with my wife's

Some cool shapes and forms here although abit much striped things. I don't get why people don't play around more with say circles or boxes but I guess that might not be tradition, perhaps more towards Mayan or Hawaiian.

You are right, it is traditional. It's my first and only drawing when it comes to Maori Art, so it's important to understand how this style made. When you understand that it's a good idea to play around with it.
