Description every once and awhile I draw pretty things...not often but sometimes.
I have a question for you, specifically those who are actively pursuing a career in art or are already established as an artist.

*Do you ever feel pressured to render/paint like already successful artists? for example I have a huge array of idols some of which can be found here on DA such as-
mr--jack
davidrapozaart
ariokh
just to spot light a few. (hope they don't mind me spotlighting them)
Now these people are very successful as artists, and I absolutely love their way of rendering images.
To be just as successful as them(or any other idol of yours) do you feel you have to emulate their style?
If you look at a lot of concept art of today, most of it is rendered in a similar fashion, some concepts may be better than others, some people more imaginative, but the over all painting style seems to be pretty similar. Do you have to paint like them to be as successful as them?
what do you think?!
