Description I would like you to meet two friends of mine, Yellow Budgie and Grey Budgie (Hows that for original names). They have retained their wild state and mostly keep to themselves. I let them out everyday and they have a great time flying around the kitchen and family room. I enjoy watching them flying around as they get into all sorts of mischief. They are great mates except for when I put them to bed for the night.

Both of them want to sleep on the same perch for the night and this results in a lot of annoyed sounds that only Budgies make. There is lots of threatening pecks at each other until the issue is resolved a long time later. Next morning they are the best of mates once again until the next bedtime.

I took this image while they were in the middle of arguing for the best perch position. The Grey Budgie has it and is determined to stay there while Yellow Budgie wants it badly and is trying to push in.

In September 2012 you commented and faved this image.

My apologies for the Ultra Mega Lateness in replying.

Thank you for the comment and fave.

Cockatoos are indeed lovely birds and they sometimes groom each other after they have had a nice feed of seed I put out for them.

G’Day Melenya,

Thanks for stopping by to comment on this image. Great to hear that you have simular parrots and that you love them so much. What amazes me is how such small birds can tweet so loudly.

BTW, I see from your homepage that you are friends with the very talented and captivating Irene and looking at your gallery and homepage it would seem that you are very much that way yourself.

I had a quick look at your gallery and I seen a couple of images I would like to comment on when I return for a review soon.

Also, my apologies for the late reply to your comments.

Ian

Thank you very much for your kind works!

Well, this day is not good for me. When I was waking up in the morning my mother told me that my yellow parrot...died. I loved it so much! I have to say that I expected it..last night it was so weird and without energy than the other days.... I can't take it back, so... It's obvious that whatever lives, dies.Right?

Anyway, thanx for taking a look at my gallery,Ian!!

((e.g.Sorry for my english,they suck))

G’Day Melenya,

I am truly sorry at the loss of your yellow parrot even though you may have expected it. As you say “Whatever lives dies” even so the fact of loving a bird so small can mean so much pain when they are gone. All we can do is value what they have taught us in loving them and to cherish the memories we will have.

The grey parrot that you see in the image unfortunately died the day before Christmas 2007. It had been sick for about six months beforehand and I spent a lot of time and money in trying to find a cure for the suspected brain tumour it had. What amazed me most about the bird was its sheer determination to survive and while it continued to have that marvellous attitude I was just as determined to give it every chance it could have.

You do not have to apologise for your English as it is very good and you can be proud of how fluent you are. If anything I should apologise to you, as I am unable to converse with you in Greek.

You take care and see you next time,

Ian

I love parrots! And that's a very clear shot!

I used to let them out almost everyday too!
They liked playing with beads and my hair!

They also argued at night about the highest -and safer- position in the cage!

G’Day Irene,

Thank you for adding “Best of Mates” to your favourites. It’s funny how our birds are very simular in their behaviour. I love birds very much and daily put seed and water out on my balcony for the wild birds in my area. I never tire of watching them come and go as they enjoy a free feed. It is amazing how many varieties can turn up.

Regards,

Ian

I was not as lucky as you, cause i left seeds in the balcony too, but only ants showed up or after a while my mother was coming to clean it!

G’Day Irene,

The most birds I have had at once is about twenty or so. Most of the time its about five or so. It did take them awhile after I first put out seed and water for them to turn up on a regular basis.

Mothers will never change, as they always like to clean up after their family as Mothers think that they are the only ones who are really tidy and everyone else is untidy. (Ha Ha)

Regards,

Ian

Ah, but even best friends argue once in a while... Alright, maybe not every day, still. Cute pair.
