Description Sulphur Crested Cockatoos love Sunflower seeds with a passion. They like nothing better than to be getting stuck into a great big pile of them.

This particular Cockatoo is one of a few regulars that visit my balcony on an almost daily basis. They and other birds have a great time enjoying the food and water I put out for them.

Such a lovely portrait of this little character   I think I would get so excited and impatient to take pictures they would run at the sight of me, seed or no seed.  Thanks for sharing a little piece of the wonderful opportunity you have, where you live, to see these wild birds up close and in person

Thank you again for faving and making such a nice comment. It is certainly amazing to sit so very close to wild birds while they are feeding although they will quickly take flight at any sudden movement on my part. I do not try to make friends with them and prefer that they be wary of me in case they trust the wrong human that would seek to harm them.

I still tell my Aussie co-worker all the time that it is SUCH a bizarre concept to me to see wild native PARROTS. Haha.

I too think it bizarre to be able to get so close to wild birds. When I feed them twice daily on my balcony I sometimes sit and wait as they slowly fly down from the trees where they have been waiting. It is an incredible sense of joy to be so close to them as they get stuck into the free seed & meat. If I move or make a noise they are off like the shot out of a gun although they soon return.
