Another vague canon father character! This is my version of Nala and Mheetu's father!
Name: Amani(A-Maa-Ni) [Swahili, meaning: Peace]
Origins: Red Lands, dry red soil south of the Pride Lands. Based off the Tsavo region in Africa.
Mate: Sarafina
Children: Nala and Nifuate
Voice Headcanon: Dante Basco (Example: Prince Zuko, season 3. Softer tone.)

From a far distant red soiled land, the little cub Amani found himself wandering north in hopes of finding a place to call home. He soon ended up in trouble; clinging to a very tall tree crying out for help after trying to use the tree's height to see where to turn next. Thankfully he was now within the Pridelands territory and the mighty Lion Guard heard his cries for help. He was then taken to pride rock, a little cub on his own was not something they could ignore. It was then he met the cubs of the pride while the Guard and royal family spoke to one another on what to do. Amani instantly clicked with two cubs; Mufasa and Sarafina. They chatted and spoke together while playing tag, soon forging a friendship within the day of meeting. Mufasa and Sarafina begged Uru and Ahadi for Amani to stay, the cubs thankfully got their wish!

Amani is an extreme pacifist and strict follower to the Circle of Life. He only eats when necessary and just enough so that scavengers can have his leftovers, even offering the meal to hyenas if they are lurking nearby. He was horrible at playing tag and always ended up pinned by Sarafina while they played, always followed by praising her for how strong she was. Sarafina and him were both very hopelessly romantic for each other, Sarafina was the one to ask if Amani would like to be her mate. Unlike his best friend Mufasa, Amani never grew a giant mane, turns out he was a maneless lion, a common trait from the Red lands. Around the time Mufasa and Sarabi were announced to soon have a cub, Sarafina too was pregnant. Being longtime best friends with one another, the pair agreed a betrothal for their cubs if the circumstances were right.

Sarafina and Amani were a happy loving relationship at first but things quickly changed after a tragic day. Sarafina was one of the pride's best hunters, sometimes taking too big of kills back to the pride and Amani spoke his issues with that but the answer was always the same; the pride needs the most. He was gentle about his issues and never really put full blame on his mate. One day Amani took Sarafina's and his big leftover meal out to the pride land boarders near the elephant graveyard to give his scraps to Banagi. Amani knew Banagi was father to Banzai and Ed, hyenas Unataka was friends with. He thought they deserved a proper meal despite the Lion vs Hyena conflicts. Amani was unaware that Sarafina hated specifically Banagi, blaming the hyena for her mother's death. She was lurking not far behind after seeing Amani drag their leftovers away. Misunderstanding the situation and suffering from trauma, she attacked Banagi. Killing him right in front of Amani, and unknowingly; his cubs. This was one thing Amani despised the most, unnecessary death, a waste of the circle of life. They weren't going to eat Banagi, they didn't need food, so why kill him? Why would his beautiful wonderful mate kill so brutally?

They quickly fled the elephant graveyard and had their argument elsewhere. This was their first argument as a couple and it was a brutal one. Sarafina didn't understand why Amani was so kind to the hyenas after being told the brutal cycle of the Pride's conflicts with them. She didn't understand why he was taking away their meal to feed hyena cubs. She felt betrayed that the one she blamed for murdering her mother was now being helped by her mate. Amani was also betrayed, he was very vocal about this pacifist ways and strong stance on the circle of life, he felt pity towards the hyenas position in everything. He was also upset that despite being pregnant, she went out and could have gotten the cubs hurt fighting Banagi. He hated arguing with Sarafina and she hated arguing with Amani, it hurt their hearts to have such a fight.

Soon they had to bury away these feelings as Sarafina was about to give birth. She gave birth two days before Serabi, having two wonderful little cubs; Nala and Nifuate. While nothing was wrong with Nifuate, their cub was clearly smaller and weaker than Nala, so Amani gave him the most attention while Sarafina handled Nala. They felt the best way to cope with that awful day was to bury their emotions and focus on the cubs. Usually they would keep themselves apart from one another, Sarafina would spend time with Nala and Sarabi, while Amani would spend time with Nifuate and Mufasa. They really did love each other but their relationship was never the same.

You can see where Kion gets his mane from, sorry Kion there's a chance you will never grow a mane even. Being a maneless lion, Mufasa's best friend and pacifist, Amani was allowed to stay with the pride when an adult.
