This is absolutely beautiful! And yes, Les Mis! I knew this drawing was referencing something, I just couldn't put my finger on it! Wonderful work, you did an excellent job symbolising Fantine's anguish.

Thank you! I still love that line, as it provokes such vivid imagery. I'm really happy with the linework, but do you have any suggestions for colouring/rendering? Do you think it would look better just black and white? Or do you like the colours as gradients?
Thanks again! I'm glad it conveyed such symbolism to you!

That it does! Hmmmm, well I think you have something good going already, especially with the muted colours and jagged lines; in fact, the whole piece reminds me of a stained glass window, which could add even more symbolism seeing as God's/the church's wrath and redemption are a big focal point in the play. You could always build upon this stain glass window idea, maybe adding more textures and lines, and implying a glossy surface.
Idk, it's totally up to you and whatever you feel should be emphasised. I really do love the colours you chose though, so either sticking with what you already have or building upon it would be my suggestion. And again, great work!

I actually want to try printing this out and painting it in watercolour now. Or I guess I could just pull from my sketchbook, haha. Might be a fun experiment. XD
