Now for something that's not a raptor! This was a commission for ~khyterra of a pair of leather Northern Shoveler wings. Ducks are so gorgeous! Of course I'm biased towards any bird with iridescence :37 oz leather with a layer of 2 oz leather for the coverts, hand painted with acrylics.

Ducks have gorgeous wings. They're pointed, much like a falcons. Ducks in fact are some of the fastest birds in level flight!

I agree. It's just that when I look at ducks in flight, I've always thought they looked goofy because their wings appear so small compared to their bodies. But the shape, as you've pointed out, is anything but goofy; they look elegant, especially with that iridescence. I think this is one of my favorites of the wing necklaces you've made.
