Description This is a little Crystal Pokeball Charm, from the Pokemon Anime, I was commissioned to make for someone.

The charm is completely handmade out of polymer clay and painted with metallic acrylics. Its circumference is just slightly larger than a nickel, about 1 inch in diameter. The line separating the top half from the bottom half and going around the button is carved as well as painted, for the most realistic look and feel.

In case you don't recognize this Pokeball right away, don't worry, you are not alone. This Pokeball is from Pokemon Movie 3: Spell of the Unown, not from the videogames, but it's such a pretty design, I am glad I was finally commissioned to make it, hehe. Ideally I would like to make this one out of resin so it can really be see-through, but for now, this smudgy painting job will have to do!

Jewelry like this, as well as many other pieces can be commissioned by me. Check out my Etsy store here: [link] to see what's in-stock or feel free to send me an e-mail me at YellerCrakka@yahoo.com if you're interested in anything.

I mean, I try to make them perfect but is there a way besides doing them by hand? Any special tool? O.O

I've just made literally thousands, so it's mostly just practice. I make each one 100% by hand, no mold or special tools, just sculpt a ball with my hands, and add the lines with a dry ball point pen, then paint and gloss of course. Sorry I don't have any cool special tricks, I'd love to discover some myself to make them faster or in bulk!

Oh, I see, haha, thanks! o.o Maybe I should save a ball point pen too...

I love i. I also think that it would be cool to make one see through. I was ao wondering do you make the side indented before you bake the clay or carve it out after because you said carve in the descriptionand i was just wondering

YellerCrakka In reply to Gerald725 [2012-01-05 04:40:44 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for the incredibly late reply, but I indent the line while the clay is soft before it is baked, hope that helps. ^_^

It's really cute. I don't think resin would be better than this.

^_^ Yay, finally, the Crystal Ball!
It's really pretty, you've done a great job on making it. ^.^

It think, it would be really awesome to see one out of resin. oo

^.^ Hihi...at least it's there. That's what counts, isn't it?

Funny coincidence that I'm planning to work with resin, too.
But I want to make the Spiritual Stones with it. ^.~

YellerCrakka In reply to Riomy [2011-06-24 01:39:32 +0000 UTC]

Haha, more of a coincidence than you might think, because the Spiritual Stones was the very first thing I started working on with the resin.

Riomy In reply to YellerCrakka [2011-06-24 10:47:04 +0000 UTC]

xDD Okay, that's funny (and a bit of creepy, I guess *lol*).

You made the Spiritual Stones? oΓ΄
Pity, that they aren't in you gallery except for the Kokiri Emerald, which isn't out of resin. (qq I love that necklace, btw.)
But I guess, if you made them...chances are high that I'll see them soon...^^

It would be pretty expensive for a whole set of all the Pokeball charms, but if you are ever interested in details, please feel free to send me an e-mail at YellerCrakka@Yahoo.com and I'd be happy to give you all the options. ^_^

YellerCrakka In reply to funkypinkgal [2011-06-20 22:25:39 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a bunch! And I am not brand specific actually, I use Sculpey, Fimo, Premo, Craft, whichever one is available at the time.

I hope you don't mind me asking all these quests. Lol! But, I'm really bad at painting my charms. What brand of paint do you prefer to paint your charms with?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YellerCrakka In reply to funkypinkgal [2011-06-22 02:16:05 +0000 UTC]

I use Bassic brand acrylic paints, they come in big toothpaste-like tubes in the art section of craft stores, usually near canvases and oil paints. I find using high quality paints really helps make charms pop. ^_^
