Sper sa nu o iei ca pe o jignire,dar eu cred ca punctul tau forte il reprezinta autoportretele.In primul rand esti foarte frumoasa si ai un chip iesit din comun(which is a good thing) si ele ma sensibilizeaza si imi transmit cel mai mult.Ai o anumita stare pe care reusesti sa o" transferi" si celui care iti admira fotografia.You're quite the role-model when it comes to photography.

ma bucur ca-ti plac autoportretele mele. insa eu n-as putea zice ca-s punctul meu forte...ma folosesc drept model pentru ca nu am pe cine altcineva sa fotografiez momentan. rareori imi place cu adevarat o poza cu mine. asta e una din ele, si probabil e pentru ca nici nu prea seman cu mine in ea daca intelegi ce vreau sa zic

A thing I forgot to ask you about: how did you determine the difference in quality from your original vs what's displayed on dA? I mean, your work here looks smashing to me. Should the version on your hard disk be even better, then I'm really beyond suitable words.
Anyway, I'll do some comparisons myself now. As you said, such a thing is truly annoying. This is the kind version. The not-so-kind one I'll reserve for the moment when my findings should second your statement above.

Ok, I quickly compared some of my shots as they appear in Lightroom and at dA. I found that some detail seems lost when looking at uploaded stuff; but worse is the deterioration in contrasts that can be seen very clearly. To act less composed as you did: this shits me no end.
To anybody reading this: think of all the socially not acceptable four-letter words you ever heard of in your life and submit them to the headquarters at dA. You can do that analog, digital or mental. These words won't get corrupted by the chosen means, which is more than can be said about works of art submitted to the same company.

yeah thats how i noticed the difference. id been working on my photo for about an hour and my eyes got used to the contrast and colours that id done, and the moment i uploaded it on deviantart i noticed how the quality got lost somewhere along the way. this didnt use to happen before, it's really disappointing.

You really have me speechless! You can't get ever more beautiful, can you? You can't do ever better works, no? But you do.
Such a simple idea, but the result is stunning, to say the least. The contrast between the smashing colors of the flowers here and your pale skin together with the coolish make-up of your eyes makes this one of the most impressive works I've ever seen. And I'm not trying to be kind; it's just the truth. And it's a stroke of genius to have your hair so strictly tamed for this shot. While I'm usually more in favour of "loose" styles, this here works incredibly well.
You may have taken some time off photography-wise due to your studies, but nobody in his/her right mind could claim that you lost something along the way. Quite the opposite. You're back with a vengeance.
Absolutely powerful. And full of aching beauty.

Hmm, you've nailed that dilemma with only a few and true words. It's only lately that I came to realize that when I'm not really motivated, for whatever reasons, I seem to get back home with crap shots only (today was such a day among too many other days; I can't believe that I've taken so many non-involved shots that add up to nothing).
In your case, I'm quite confident that you're going to handle uni and photography equally well. You've shown that with your latest works, and all "beyond reasonable doubt".
The gap you mentioned may have even done you good, because there's an ever increasing level of quality in your works. It's maybe tiny steps at times only, but everything you do seems to get ever more perfect.
But beware of perfection: beyond there lies nothing.

I dont know if thats a general rule though. I was in a pretty good mood the other day and I thought I should take advantage of that and snap some pics. When i put them on my computer they all looked like crap! My posing, my settings, everything was just bad. I have no idea what works for me anymore to be honest
I'm not scared of perfection because, at least in my eyes, I am a VERY long way from reaching it!
